Office Assistant (Wright State Student Housing)
Summary
The Office Assistant serves as the first point of contact for resident calls, emails, requests and problem solving.
This position has both routine and non-routine duties. A highly professional tone, appearance, and manner is both
expected and required, including appropriate communication in person and while on the phone. An aptitude for
information management, general office management, and clerical support tasks are essential to this role.
Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following)
● Maintain polite and professional communication while conducting all front desk duties, including answering
the phone and assisting visitors, residents and vendors
● Direct resident service requests to the appropriate department or individual for completion in a timely manner
● Promptly respond to emails and phone calls from residents and prospects; provide information in a polite,
upbeat, professional manner
● Perform opening and closing duties as assigned
● Lend administrative support to managerial staff
● Assist with key administration process and maintain key control
● Conduct all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, the Fair Housing Act, employment
law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, EPA and OSHA regulations, and all laws pertaining to property
management
● Assist with special events, including preparation, setup, execution, and teardown
● Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment
The Office Assistant works at the Wright State Student Housing office and interfaces with external and internal
customers, residents, employees, and vendors on a regular basis. The hours for this position are 8:00 am to 4:30
pm, Monday through Friday. This employee may need to work after hours, as needed. The Office Assistant
should be flexible and readily available depending on the needs of the company.
Reporting Structure
The Office Assistant reports to the Business Manager.
Physical Requirements
The Office Assistant's physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the
responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with
hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and may require lifting and/or moving up to twenty-
five pounds. The Office Assistant must be able to drive occasionally during the course of work.
