A Brief Overview
The OA II is assigned to specific jobs within the department. These duties include telephone reception, reading reports over the telephone to healthcare providers, printing mailing, faxing and otherwise distributing printed reports, filing and retrieving slides, tissue blocks, and other records, and typing and updating physician information in computer data base. The supervisor makes continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, problems to be anticipated, quantity and quality of work expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments, and suggests ways of handling and resolving problems. Additionally, supervisors provide specific instructions for new, difficult, or unusual assignments. The supervisor spot checks the work occasionally during progress, and upon completion to assure that proper methods are being used and guidelines are being followed.

What you will do
- Answers telephones politely and promptly.
- Collates paperwork.
- Receive and direct visitors and clients
- Compiles reports and prepares for binding.
- Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to attaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Files miscellaneous records.
- Forwards calls to staff or take messages.
- Greets physicians, hospital staff and patients in a friendly, professional manner.
- May maintain data bases.
- Monitors performance improvement projects.
- Pages medical staff in STAT situations.
- Prints and distributes reports by mail, fax or interdepartmental mail.
- Researches and troubleshoots all returned mail.
- Researches print malfunctions and provides basic maintenance for printers.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $26.84 - $30.22 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
