Occupational Therapy Assistant - Fishersville, VA

Position Overview:

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist to assist in providing a wide range of therapeutic interventions to patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial disabilities. You will play an important role in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient assessments:
  • Collect data and assist the Occupational Therapist with assessments of patient function, including range of motion, strength, coordination, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Implement treatment plans:
  • Assist with the implementation of treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, sensory integration techniques, and the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to patients on therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Patient care:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide support and encouragement to patients throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Documentation:
  • Assist with documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Virginia.
• Experience:
  • No previous experience required, however, prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Skills and Certifications:

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Virginia (required)

Benefits:

• Competitive Salary (Salary range: $28.14 - $30.92) - 10% Salary Placement fee
• Comprehensive Benefits Package: (May vary by facility)
• Schedule:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Weekend rotation may be required.
• Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) - 112 beds
