The Occupational Therapist assesses patients, formulates a plan of care and provides direct patient care services in accordance with the law and state practice act. Services must be ordered by a physician. The Occupational Therapist also supervises and delegates appropriate functions to the Occupational Therapist Assistants or Rehab Technicians.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Required Technical Skills:
Basic computer skills, good interpersonal skills, basic organizational and time management skills, basic knowledge and skills to care for the physical needs of the population served.
Required Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Current Texas license as an Occupational Therapist and CPR
Preferred Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Advance skills/ certifications in specialty areas, such as NDT, geriatric, orthopedics, etc.
Required Experience:
Work/ educational experience in the healthcare field
Preferred Experience:
One year experience as an Occupational Therapist in a health care setting.
