Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate and dedicated part–time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Children’s Specialized. In this role you will collaboratively work with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized, evidence-based therapy services. This role involves assessing, designing, and implementing therapeutic interventions that improve functional skills and promote independence in daily living activities. The OT will provide services to address the functional needs of a client with autism related to adaptive development, adaptive behavior and play, and sensory, motor, and postural development, which are designed to improve functional ability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive assessments of fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals in coordination with the ABA team.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve motor skills, sensory integration, self-help skills, and adaptive behaviors.
- Work closely with behavior analysts to ensure therapy goals are aligned with the overall ABA treatment plan.
- Monitor and track client progress, adjusting interventions as needed to meet goals.
- Provide family and caregiver education and support to ensure carryover of therapy goals in the home and community.
- Document all sessions and maintain accurate, up to date client records.
- Collaborate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress challenges and any changes to the treatment plan.
- Offer training and consultation to staff on the integration of OT strategies within ABA programs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
- State Licensure in Occupational Therapy
