Position Summary The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to help residents achieve greater independence in daily activities. You will work closely with residents to promote functional abilities, improve quality of life, and facilitate recovery.
Job Description
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ needs, abilities, and goals.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques and activities to improve residents’ physical, emotional, and social skills.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate residents and their families on therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies for daily living.
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments and treatment sessions.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in occupational therapy.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice occupational therapy.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices, particularly in geriatric care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and resident-centered approach to care
- Experience working in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
