About the Job
A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their staff at one of their schools in Manhattan. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for helping students access the academic environment and participate to the maximum extent possible in educationally related activities
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: School
- Schedule: Part time, Flexible Schedule and hours
- Hours: 8:30am to 2:30pm
- Patient Population: Pediatric IDD
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will:
- Evaluate and treat students with disabilities
- Maintain daily progress and attendance records
- Write progress reports
- Attend IEP meetings
- Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental accommodations, or assistive technology
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Active NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- CPR certification
- Computer savvy
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with the Pediatric population
- MRDD experience
