A Day treatment facility located in Manhattan, NY is looking for an Occupational Therapist
Type: Contract
Schedule: M-F, 09:00am-05:00pm
Location: Manhattan, NY
JOB PURPOSE:
• The Agency Occupational Therapist plans and administers occupational therapy treatment programs for medically referred patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluates patients referred by physiatrist and administers a treatment program in collaboration with physiatrist.
• Participates in developing patient care plan with other interdisciplinary team members.
• Documents all pertinent patient information as required, including, but not limited to evaluations, progress notes, MDS and care plans.
• Documents all statistical data as required.
• Consults with physiatrist and other professionals when appropriate.
• Provides home visits for patients to be discharged to community as appropriate.
• Recommends equipment for discharges as appropriate.
• Participates in delivery in inservice training programs for hospital and departmental staff.
• Maintains high standard of health care and clinical practice through attendance at continuing education inservices/seminars and reading professional journals.
• Participates in clinical education of student affiliates.
• Participates in Performance Improvement monitoring.
• Provides clinical supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Attendants.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: 4 year Bachelors Degree from an approved Occupational Therapy program.
• Experience: 1-2 Years of OT experience.
• License Registration: Current New York State license/registration
Physical:
• Ability to lift and transfer patient.
• Ability to use all OT modalities/equipment.
