Must be willing to relocate within 35 miles of the below locations if you are not within a commutable distance. We do offer a relocation package.

How You Will Make an Impact? 

J.B. Poindexter & Co is currently seeking an Occupational Health Nurse that will provide cost effective nursing services and programs to treat and improve the health and wellness of the Team Members and reduce incidents within the facilities.

The Nuts and Bolts:

• Conducts on-site treatment of injuries, and evaluates physical condition of patient
• Contacts physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
• Counsels Team Members of injury prevention and health care.
• Maintains record of persons treated, and participates in accident investigations as needed.
• Develops Proactive health programs, such as health education (wellness), accident prevention, alcohol/drug abuse counseling, and curtailment of smoking, flu shots, and weight control regimens.
• Co-leader of the Medical Team including training of First Responders and standardization of equipment and supplies.
• Participate in auditing of third party care givers across the footprint.
• Work with WC Claims Specialist as needed for claims Management.
• Maintains Health Center and First aid supplies.
• Collect data on work related injuries/illnesses and work with EH&S Manager to determine root cause.
• Administers drug screens (For Cause).
• Manages medical surveillance programs (respirator, physical, audiometric, etc.).
• Supports and participates in PPS team efforts.
• Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
• Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Credentials:

• Emergency Medical care and/or Pre-hospital experience
• Must possess licensing (LPN or RN).
• Computer literate: Microsoft Word, Excel, Office.
• 5 to 7 years practical nursing experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and injury/illness reporting.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills.
• Must be willing and able to travel 50% or more.
