Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation (DGOC) is an established owner and operator of producing conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells and midstream pipelines and compression stations concentrated in the Appalachian Basin in the United States. Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
Responsibilities:
We require a technical hands-on leader. This position will provide technical leadership, operational support, administration, and project leadership of all assigned business systems, and various OT applications/databases including Wellview, Siteview, SROD, SNAP, PDS, ARIES, Gemini, AGERE, and Iconic Air as well as others that may be assigned to OT as we evolve. The understanding and use of technologies, networking, applications is critical to success in this role.
This role will be part of a team that reports to the Director of Operational Technology (OT). We service over 1500 employees, dozens of applications, and thousands of endpoints. Our service area covers nine states currently supported by an array of employees and managed service partners.
Special focus will be placed on:
Operational Skillsets
- App and integration – troubleshoot application issues and maintain database interfaces across various applications.
- Data requests – extract information for users over and beyond the out of box report functionality.
- Identify technical problems and work to resolve the issue.
- Root cause analysis troubleshooting.
- Testing and coordination of scheduled application maintenance, releases, and major version upgrades.
- Execute, monitor, and validate system upgrades including application, operating system, and related dependencies.
- Optimize and tune system performance, performing maintenance activities as required.
- Experience and a preference to manage operational work using tickets.
- Champion of change management, user acceptance testing, and validations.
- Balance and manage the complexities of licensing obligations with application administration and support.
- Ability to be productive working between application and cloud infrastructure teams.
- Collaboration with other IT and business subject matter experts to administer, support, and maintain technical solutions.
- Seek to understand company data sources.
- Ability to reverse engineer existing solutions and be accountable for current state implementations.
- Automation skillset in one or more languages. Experience automating routine or mundane activities.
- Analyze and identify software or hardware systemic problems and work with the appropriate teams or vendors to create a solution to resolve the issue and engineer out the probability of it becoming a further problem.
- Independent research – the ability to dig into previous tickets, emails, documents, to research past solutions.
- Create detailed and abstract technical drawings and comprehensive system documentation (PPT, Visio).
- Business analysis skills. Ability to document swim lanes, data flow diagrams, and business process mapping.
- Ability to correlate and translate business needs to technical solutions.
- Ability to communicate recommendations effectively and propose changes.
- Implement and maintain application configuration database.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or a related combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of common oil and gas business processes.
- Advanced capability to write SQL queries, manage ETL/API processes, and complex system integrations.
- Experience at creating SQL objects: stored procedures, triggers, rules, views, and user defined data types or functions.
- One or more language skills: T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python, or PowerShell.
- Ability to map system processes and create entity relationship diagrams.
- Expertise in one more of the following systems: SharePoint Online, SQL, ESRI, Aries, WellView/SiteView,
- Willingness to provide after-hours support when required.
