About the Job
What you'll do:
- Respond to Service calls as dispatched from Operations Manager to perform QA/QC, Commissioning, Service, Warranty and O&M duties
- Proficiently read and comprehend building plans to effectively build electrical installations that are mechanically excellent, of the highest workmanship, aesthetically pleasing, and optimally functional
- Track progress of cases and log communications with manufacturers as detailed notes for reporting
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues and implement Code compliant fixes in the field in a safe manner
- Work with OEMs to determine warranty status of installed equipment and follow guided RMA processes
- Keep detailed and organized notes of findings while on sites
- Fill out Service Reports, track travel and labor time as well as used materials for billing
- Confirm accuracy of, red-line and/or modify As Built Drawings as needed- as well as bring changes to Operations Manager's attention for inclusion in archived documentation
- Perform QA/QC & Commissioning Testing at vital milestones of the construction of new builds and assist Operations Manager in building out process documents for reoccurring issues
- Lead resolution of service needs such as: arc-faults, ground-faults, monitoring outages, late inverter start-ups, insulation faults, general underproduction, etc
- Assist with all project types: commercial, industrial, and utility-scale grid-tied, off-grid and energy storage systems. Assess problems and implement solutions during the construction process.
- Review project plans and drawings and confirm all equipment and material needed
- Apply an in-depth understanding of the performance characteristics of various components of a solar system and how they interrelate to field construction execution.
- Emphasize the highest level of quality assurance and adherence to safety standards and regulations
- Collaborate with design teams and inventory managers to track, effectively use, and strategically purchase inventory to maintain target inventory levels
- Perform other general support duties as assigned by Employee's supervisor
- Complete all reports and other documentation timely and accurately
- Drive and maintain all company vehicles, owned, or rented, in accordance with Company policy and local laws
- Maintain safety training related to the installation of electrical systems and basic CPR and First Aid
What you'll bring:
- 2+ years of experience with a journeyman's electrician card or 4+ years of experience as an electrical apprentice on solar installation or solar service work
- OSHA-10 certified
- Knowledge of the NEC Code and the ability to use and reference the Code is a plus
- Proficient skills with computers including: Windows OS (multiple versions), Microsoft Office and document/content creation, various inverter & monitoring programs
- Ability to work both under close direction and in a self-directed manner, as needed
- Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screening and background check.
- Must have a good driving record and maintain a valid Driver's License.
