About the Job
The Operations & Maintenance Technician has well-rounded knowledge and works in all aspects of operations and general maintenance of plant and transitions between duties associated with all areas of plant as needed. The position is designed to provide training and experience to allow progression to O&M Technician - Operator Senior.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties include, but are not limited to, starting up, shutting down, and operating generating units in a cost effective, safe, and efficient manner and within guidelines and operating permit provisions.
- May provide leadership, direction, prioritization, and scheduling of weekly, daily, and after hour activities while complying with environmental rules and all other regulatory laws, including MP standards.
- Coordinate plant equipment and resources to meet customer requirements while maximizing efficiency within manufacturers' specifications.
- Energize, de-energize, and isolate substation and line equipment while assuring the safety of crews and equipment.
- Maintain current and accurate files/records for legal and historical purposes.
- Effective communication between internal staff/external customers, various departments, vendors and the general public required to establish and maintain working relationship.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Four years or more work experience that includes working as an O&M Technician I with Control Room Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person to Aurora, MN
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain a Chief Grade “A” State of Minnesota Stationary Engineer License.
- To obtain a Chief Grade “A” State of Minnesota Stationary Engineer License, the successful applicant must currently hold a 1st Class “A” State of Minnesota Boiler License.
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
- Rotating 12-hour shift.
- Maybe upgraded to O&M Technician Senior for up to 90 consecutive days when needs exist once Chief Grade “A” State of Minnesota Stationary Engineer License obtained
- This position may be subject to audiometric and pulmonary function testing and subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
BENEFITS:
- The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $43.47 - $48.30. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, and experience.
