NY/AR/Japanese-English Customer Service Rep at Activ8

An international travel agency is currently searching for a motivated Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative to join their facility in the Mid-town, Manhattan, NY area. The ideal candidate has fluency in Japanese and English and is interested in an entry-level office position. This is a direct-hire and full-time role. Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative Responsibilities Include:

• Communicate with customers and vendors via phone and email, in both English and Japanese
• Provide information and support for travel agency customers regarding the details of their travel, accommodations, budget, etc., and assist with booking accommodations and transportation
• Process payments and log transactions in company system(s)
• Act as point of contact for tour and travel vendors (tour companies, transportation companies, etc.) that work together with the agency, and maintain good relationships
• Creation of sales reports and miscellaneous documentation for upper management
• Other duties as assigned

Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative Requirements Include:

• Advanced Business-level Japanese language (JLPT N1 equivalent) ability is required
• 1 year of previous tourism industry experience is a big plus
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• Organizational and time management skills
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
