NVH Engineer - ITS

NVH Tire Engineer / Tire Development & Testing - Akron, Ohio #24-00545

Salary Range: $100K to $120K+ Permanent Position / Benefits

Growing Rubber Industry Research & Development Firm located in the Greater Akron, Ohio area seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is experienced in the design, development and testing of automotive and truck tires and associated performance issues. The desired Candidate will have hands-on experience with the reduction or elimination of tire noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) in order to increase tire performance and customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience. Preferred Candidate would have a PhD. Desirable Candidate would have structural & rotating dynamics and signal analysis concepts coursework.

Candidate must have experience investigating, applying and developing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) testing methods to increase tire performance and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Candidate will be familiar with NVH data acquisition and analysis codes, instrumentation, signal data acquisition, processing and analysis, laboratory and in-situ (on-vehicle) vibration and noise measurement analysis methods, experimental modal analysis (EMA) methods; impact and shaker excitation, equipment maintenance, and calibration to include FEA techniques; linear, nonlinear, and dynamic sub-structuring.

Candidate is responsible for supporting tire product development engineers and customers with tire performance investigations and analysis to include the required documentation, providing written reports and making presentations.

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with Linux and Windows desktop operating systems, proficient with MS Office software, some basic coding skills using Python, Metlab, etc.

Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
