M Health Fairview is seeking a Nutrition Services Associate to for St. Johns Hospital! This is a part time opportunity offering 35 hours per a 2-week pay period. This position is not benefit eligible. Minimum pay starts at $20.01 an hr!
This is a leadership role.
Summary: The Nutrition Services Associate (NSA) serves as a liaison between the diet office, kitchen managers, and clinicians to enhance communication and improve patient satisfaction. The NSA supports patient’s nutrition needs through fulfilling enteral nutrition and oral nutrition supplement orders, assisting patients with menu needs, answering questions about therapeutic diets, navigating the nutrition software, and other diet office duties.
**The last hour and a half is closing down the kitchen and checking out employees.**

Week 2:
Mon: 3:00pm-8:00pm

Sat: 6:15am-11:15am
Sun: 6:15am-11:15am
Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
- Actively participates in crafting and implementing improvements to achieve clinical happiness and crafting positive outcomes
- Prepares food in an efficient, safe and timely manner according to department service times and schedules, using standardized recipes and following proper techniques
- Covers, labels, dates and rotates all food prior to storing to ensure department and regulatory agency standards are met
- Washes dishes and/or pots and pans according to established procedures and time frames
- Practices accurate infection control methods including hand-washing, personal hygiene and infection control policies
- Performs a specific task on trayline during the assembly of patient trays
- Delivers trays to patients, collects trays after meal service. Delivers floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing unit
- Performs a variety of cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties which may include plating, using portion control and cashiering operation
Required:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: 1 year health care food service experience preferred
Desired Skills:
- Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment; familiar with cleaning products, chemicals, and safety procedures
- Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)
- Integration of activities, structures, and responsibilities so that resources are used most effectively to meet objectives
- Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection
