In collaboration with the Stroke Program leadership, this position is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of Stroke performance improvement and quality review, which encompasses all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participates in the care of admitted stroke patients.
Provides coordination and facilitation of performance improvement data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. Collaborates closely with Stroke Program leadership to assure compliance with Stroke standards and guidelines.
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and enhancing the quality of care delivered to stroke patients through implementation of a stroke Performance Improvement plan. Utilizes the program regulations to develop measures to provide a threshold for success and evaluation of processes. Offers feedback and reevaluation of the process until an improvement is demonstrated. Provides feedback to staff and works with educators, department managers and other leaders to meet the goals of the department and the Stroke Program. Documents performance improvement processes to determine success of actions and implementations and event resolution. Maintains the strictest confidentiality of all patient information. Promotes the concept of cooperation and develops open lines of communication with department employees, patients, visitors, and other personnel within and outside the hospital. Ensures that performance improvement projects support the CoxHealth mission to improve the health of the community we serve through quality health care, education and research.

- Required:
- Current Missouri Registered Nurse License
- 10 hours of stroke related education annually
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other related field
- Experience
- Required: 3 years related experience
- Preferred: Experience in emergency or critical care nursing
- Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office computer applications
- Additional responsibilities include research applicable clinical practice guidelines/relevant literature, performance benchmarks for project/case preparation, community outreach opportunities, presentation preparation
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: MO RN license
- Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- Required: Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire
