Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 per year + Performance Bonus + Sign-On Bonus

Position Overview
Join a leading healthcare organization as the Nursing Manager for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role offers the opportunity to oversee the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care across a 49-bed NICU with an average daily census of 30+ patients and a team of approximately 141 NICU staff members. As one of three Nurse Managers, you will collaborate to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care, with coverage responsibilities that may extend to the Pediatric Unit and PICU as needed.
This is a hands-on leadership position with work hours primarily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Standards: Manage 24-hour nursing operations, ensuring care delivery meets/exceeds quality, cost, and clinical performance measures.
- Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and nursing practice standards while adhering to Nursing Practice Act, TJC, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with nursing leadership to create and execute strategic/business plans for integrated services across the care continuum.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor departmental budgets to ensure resource optimization, reduce costs, and improve care quality.
- Staff Management: Determine appropriate staffing levels, recruit, train, and maintain staff competency, while fostering professional growth and development.
- Continuous Improvement: Design systems and processes for quality improvement in patient care and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Risk Management: Manage human resource and risk management issues while promoting a culture of safety for patients, employees, and departments.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience relevant to NICU.
- At least 3 years of management or leadership experience.
- Education:
- Academic degree in nursing required (BSN or MSN).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN required for CCS-certified facilities.
- Preferred:
- Master’s degree.
- National specialty certification (RNC-NIC).
- Familiarity with electronic medical records.
