Chief Purpose of this position: 

VCUSchool of Nursing invites candidates with experience in healthcare systems andleadership to apply to this open rank 12-month term Nursing Facultyposition. This position will contribute to curriculum development,implementation, and evaluation; teach in graduate or undergraduate areas; makeongoing scholarly contributions to nursing science, including the incorporationof evidence-based practice into teaching and clinical activities and thepublication of manuscripts; and maintain a commitment to serving the school ofnursing, university, profession, and community.
Appointmentto academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievementand teaching experience.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Demonstrates commitment to contributing toVCU’s Quest 2028 (https://quest.vcu.edu/)
• Engages faculty, students, and staff to foster adiverse community at VCU
• Demonstrates an integrated academic life,contributing to the teaching, scholarship and service missions in an urbanresearch-intensive university with an academic health sciences center.
• Participates in all aspects of curriculumincluding teaching in classroom or clinical settings, and evaluation.
• Maintains a commitment to serving the school ofnursing, university, profession and community
• Maintains ongoing scholarly contributionsconsistent with academic appointment and rank.
• Maintains ongoing scholarly contributions totheir field such as translation of evidence into practice, presentations orpublications.

Required Qualifications: 

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as aregistered nurse in Virginia
• Graduate degree in nursing
• Experience working in or with healthcaresystems, and leadership within healthcare systems
• Documented effectiveness in collaboration andcommunication.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fosteringa diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as afaculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP) innursing or related field
• Experience teaching in undergraduate and/orgraduate nursing programs in areas of nursing systems/nursing leadership
• Record of accomplishments in scholarship andprofessional service
