Merit Health Central is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Director for Behavioral Health to lead and oversee the care and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. The Nursing Director will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, utilizing extensive experience and clinical judgment to ensure the highest standards of care are provided. This position requires a leader who can effectively direct nursing staff, manage treatment plans, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Leadership & Management: Lead and supervise the Behavioral Health nursing staff, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing teams to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
+ Patient Care Oversight: Oversee the treatment and care of patients with emotional, mental, and psychological disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with medical and behavioral health teams.
+ Collaborative Care: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
+ Clinical Judgment & Decision-Making: Use advanced clinical judgment to assess patient needs, modify treatment approaches, and ensure optimal outcomes for patients. Make key decisions about patient care, discharge planning, and interventions.
+ Quality & Compliance: Ensure that care practices align with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices. Lead initiatives to continuously improve care quality, patient outcomes, and nursing staff performance.
+ Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the Behavioral Health services at Merit Health Central. Assist in developing goals, protocols, and new programs to meet the needs of the community and enhance the behavioral health services offered.
+ Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress. Provide regular reports to top management on department performance, patient outcomes, and any emerging trends or issues in the Behavioral Health department.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Master’s degree or higher in RN in Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, or a related field.
+ Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in behavioral health nursing, with a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient care. Previous leadership experience is preferred.
+ Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of behavioral health concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to exercise creativity and independent judgment in planning and implementing patient care strategies.
+ Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, with certification in psychiatric nursing or a related specialty preferred.
