Nursing Assistant - Orthopedics - Part time - University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority

Work Schedule:

60% FTE, 24 hours/week This is an Evening/Night position with two, (12) twelve-hour shifts per week: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and Holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.

Pay:

• UW Health offers a competitive compensation, relevant work experience will be considered.
• External hires may be eligible for up a sign on bonus, pro-rated by FTE.
• Position includes a $3/hour Evening/night shift differential and a $2.25/hr Weekend differential.

We are seeking a Nursing Assistant, CNA, NA to:

• Be a supportive partner with Registered Nurses on the Orthopedics unit.
• Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. CNA’s will assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding.
• Interact and engage with visitors, patients, and their family members to establish a trusting relationship to provide high quality care.

Nursing Assistants are required to attend Nursing Assistant Orientation on a designated Tuesday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Education:

Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent and Graduate of State of Wisconsin Approved Nursing Assistant program

Work Experience:

Preferred – One (1) year recent experience as a Nursing Assistant

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Must be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid Registry, CPR certification required within three months of hire

Preferred – CPR Certification
