Position Summary
- Under the general direction of and in association with the Director for the Center for Clinical and Professional Development at Maine Medical Center, provides leadership and oversight for academic affairs within nursing and collaborative models nursing education. In association with the Director and clinical leadership in nursing, oversees student transitions in practice from the student role to new graduate employment through direction of clinical specialty-based orientation programs at MMC.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education:Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, research, and education acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- License/Certifications:Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical practice within acute care settings, critical care experience and certification strongly preferred. Experiences as a nurse educator in practice and academic settings, including responsibilities relative to program and curriculum development.
- Experiences as a nurse educator in practice and academic settings, including responsibilities relative to program and curriculum development.
- Expertise in the application of teaching and learning methodologies related to progressive developmental levels in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated achievements based on strong leadership capacity and ability to facilitate change.
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems, technologies, and professional practice trends within and beyond the State of Maine.
- Advanced analytical skills sufficient to design, direct, and evaluate systems, processes, and outcomes and to oversee the administrative/operational aspects of the program.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in other departments, disciplines, roles, and organizations. Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
