NaphCare is hiring experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) just like you at the City of Roanoke Adult Detention Center located in Roanoke, VA. We currently have PRN positions available! Pay rates range per hour based on employment status, shift, specific facility, site needs, licensure, and experience.

This service streamlines continuing education for all NaphCare Employees to meet state specific requirements for maintaining licensing.

Responsibilities for Nurse Practitioner:

• Provide direct and indirect medical care to meet the physiological, psychological and emotional needs of the patients
• Obtain history and perform a physical examination to determine patient health status
• Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans
• Identify patient health conditions and prescribe treatment based on diagnosis
• Evaluate patients who have returned from off-site treatment
• Admit and discharge patients from all units in the facility
• Conduct rounds
• Schedule and perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures

Qualifications for Nurse Practitioner:

• Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in Virgina
• Current DEA registration
• An appropriate collaborative agreement with the on-site Physician
• A valid CPR card
• Be certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties
• Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills
• Have strong computer skills
