We Are Hiring:

• Practice Detail: Serve as expert clinician and patient advocate in outpatient role for our growing Breast Surgery practice.

What You Will Do:

Ascension Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, experienced Breast Surgery Nurse Practitioner in Elk Grove Village, IL. The Advanced Practitioner will see patients independently in our outpatient office on the hospital campus.

The ideal candidate will be a board certified Nurse Practitioner with strong training and experience in breast surgery.

 

Position Highlights:

 

• Collaborates with the Breast Surgeons and team to ensure appropriate patient follow up as well as communication with referring physicians, managing a patient panel, and evaluating and administering plans and care to postoperative patients as well as seeing long-term follow up patients.
• Serves as a specialty area expert and a consultant to staff, patients, families and the clincial care operational team.
• Functions as an advanced practitioner, educator, role model, consultant and researcher for patients, families and staff.
• Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff as needed.
• Nurse Practitioner will practice in Elk Grove Village with minimal time at our Bartlett, IL practice

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. 
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
