                        Nurse Manager- Utilization Management-Jefferson City, MO

                                  (on-site-possible hybrid/WFH transition)

Summary:

   The Nurse Utilization Manager manages a team of professionals responsible for precertification of selected services or procedures, concurrent review, and retrospective review.  Leads in the development of policy and quality improvement relating to precertification and utilization management. Acts as a subject matter expert for implementation of policy, procedure, and system changes.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage team of professional nurses and UR assistants responsible for reviewing cases; responsibilities include all HR issues
2. Manage day-to-day operations of work assignments for direct reports
3. Manage communication with the client for day-to-day operations.
4. Troubleshoot and prioritize issues
5. Seek out and maintains current knowledge of related healthcare Federal and State regulations, utilization review policy, and client policy.
6. Perform all activities within the scope of licensure and acts within the scope of Federal and State Laws and programs.
7. Maintains knowledge of cultural differences including socioeconomic factors, cultural traditions, and spiritual beliefs.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse with active and unrestricted license in the State of Missouri and multi-state licensure when applicable.
2. Minimum five years nursing experience in an acute care environment
3. Minimum three years experience in a utilization review/case management setting; required.
   1. Supervisory experience in a medical setting, utilization management, disease or case management required
4. Ability to work and lead a team independently with minimal supervision.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
6. BSN required/MSN or MBA preferred
