A health system in New Jersey is seeking a Nurse Manager, Long Term Care to join their team. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee clinical operations, manage staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care for long-term care residents in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Manager, Long Term Care will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Associate Directors of Nursing (ADON) to develop and implement unit goals and evaluate progress
- Creating and managing staffing plans to maintain appropriate staffing levels and mix, including scheduling and coverage for vacations, holidays, and absences
- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff, including conducting performance appraisals and implementing disciplinary actions as needed
- Ensuring safe, professional patient care by monitoring compliance with professional standards and identifying staff educational needs
- Reviewing and implementing policies, protocols, and discharge criteria to ensure regulatory compliance
- Overseeing quality assurance and improvement programs to address patient care issues and ensuring follow-up actions are implemented
- Assisting with annual budget development and monitoring budget performance to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Acting as a resource to staff on clinical and management matters
- Providing information and reports related to utilization, credentialing, and scheduling to meet regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 3+ years of clinical experience
- Supervisory experience in a long-term care setting
- IV Therapy certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Familiarity with quality assurance principles and regulatory compliance standards
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Proficiency in developing and implementing quality improvement programs
