POSITION SUMMARY: This 1.0 FTE position is responsible for nursing leadership for the CDPI program. The position would include direct supervision and performance evaluation of all nurses with CDPI as their primary department, data specialists and other office staff. The position would have the responsibility of planning, overseeing, and facilitating the performance improvement activities of all CDPI performance improvement nurses. This position would be responsible for managing the operations of the CDPI department including schedules, time records, budget, and productivity tracking. It would also include administrative support for department activities and for the Medical Director of Quality. The position may also include working with a CDPI Service Line Physician to conduct specific performance improvement projects or leading sepsis initiatives.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN/MSN preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico State or compact state RN license. PCCN/CCRN certification preferred. BLS through the American Heart Association. ACLS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
SKILLS: Demonstrated excellence in communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Must be computer literate. Must be self-directed. Experience with Excel preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three to five years’ experience in clinical nursing, with advanced skills.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Medical Director of Quality/Clinician Directed Performance Improvement

General office environment and general hospital departments/nursing units

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to move around the hospital to all units/departments for about 40% of the day, sitting in office 60% of the day. Ability to assist with patient lifting and general nursing care. Use of a computer for required applications. Requires close work, good vision, dexterity to write and type.
