Nurse Manager - Burn ICU - Lead a World-Class Team in Plano, TX!

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is collaborating with a prestigious Level 1 Trauma Center in Plano, TX to identify a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager for their specialized Burn ICU. About the Role:

Oversee the daily operations of a 30-bed combined Trauma and Burn ICU (16 Trauma ICU beds and 14 Burn ICU beds), managing a team of approximately 85 FTEs. This position reports directly to the Director of Critical Care Services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of nurses in the Burn ICU.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that prioritizes patient-centered care.
• Ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety in all aspects of patient care.
• Manage unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives and implement best practices in burn care.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders.
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Active Texas State RN License or Compact License (Required)
• BSN (Required) - MSN (Preferred)
• National Specialty Certification or plan to obtain within 1 year of hire (Required)
• BLS/ACLS (Required)
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an RN in the ICU (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a Burn or Trauma ICU (Required)
• Experience in a Magnet or Pathways designated facility (Required)
• Burn and Trauma experience (Required)
