CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Labor & Delivery RN for a Clinical Nurse Specialist role. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our medical team, providing top-notch care to our patients during one of the most significant times in their lives. This role requires a deep understanding and experience in labor and delivery, coupled with a passion for educating and mentoring. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, optimizing patient outcomes, and promoting a culture of excellence in the labor and delivery unit.
Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Labor & Delivery, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Providing expert clinical care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
2. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
3. Utilizing advanced nursing knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
4. Serving as a role model and mentor to other nursing staff, promoting a culture of learning and excellence.
5. Leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
6. Providing education and training to nursing staff on topics such as AWHONN standards, fetal monitoring, and other relevant topics.
7. Participating in research activities to contribute to the advancement of nursing practice in labor and delivery.
8. Ensuring compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Masters Degree in Nursing required
2. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in labor and delivery.
4. Previous experience as Nurse Educator and/or Clinical Research is strongly preferred; other relevant experience will be considered
5. Experience with AWHONN standards, fetal monitoring, and nurse education.
6. Exceptional clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to lead, educate, and mentor other nursing staff.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Strong commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
11. Proficiency with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
