Position Overview
The SRO Certified Contract Instructor is responsible for participating in all phases of the systematic approach to training, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that qualify Susquehanna operators and enhance operator performance. Serving as extensions of Operations leadership, instructors model the technical and leadership skills necessary to establish and uphold Operations standards.

Position Overview
The SRO Certified Contract Instructor is responsible for participating in all phases of the systematic approach to training, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that qualify Susquehanna operators and enhance operator performance. Serving as extensions of Operations leadership, instructors model the technical and leadership skills necessary to establish and uphold Operations standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Train and evaluate Operations personnel across various settings, including the classroom, control room simulator, and plant. Trainees include initial license candidates, licensed operators, shift technical advisors, and shift managers.
- Complete all required training and evaluations to obtain senior reactor operator certification and instructor qualifications in compliance with station standards.
- Develop instructional materials such as lesson plans, simulator scenarios, and job performance measures to support Operations and Training objectives.
- Identify, analyze, and address performance gaps in operator performance.
- Support simulator fidelity and certification in accordance with NRC regulations and ANSI standards.
Candidates must meet one or more of the following:
- Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification at a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or previous Reactor Operator (RO) License at Susquehanna, or a minimum of 10 years of Operations experience.
- Extensive experience as an instructor in the nuclear power industry.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully obtain a senior reactor operator certification at Susquehanna.
- Previous classroom and simulator instructor experience (preferred) or strong verbal and written communication skills with potential to meet Susquehanna instructor qualification standards.
- Experience developing regulatory examinations in accordance with NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors.
- Completion of INPO Instructor Training.
