GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking an NQA-1 Lead Auditor to join our team that provides services to the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and Commercial Nuclear Power industries.
This position is part-time, as needed work and will be supporting our corporate office in Amarillo, TX.

Overview:
- Guide the auditors and technical specialist during the audits.
- Plan, organize, and lead audits; and prepare the audit reports per planned schedule.
- Report, register, follow-up, and track suppliers' findings, deficiencies, and observations.
- Troubleshoot quality problems and contributes recommendations/solutions.
- Monitor and measure supplier performance and make recommendations based on analytics.
- Maintain NQA-1 lead auditor status.
- Work with Engineering and Procurement to facilitate supply chain quality assurance process methodologies.
- Facilitate and provide on-the-job training to other auditors and technical specialist.
- Assist with implementation of QA Program.
- Implement and support evolution/improvement of the QA Program over the life of the program.
- Play an active role to ensure safety and quality culture is promoted and continually improved.
- Leads multi-discipline/multi-utility audit teams in evaluating the organization's and/or supplier's QA Program.
- Performs audits, surveys, and surveillances.
- Maintains qualifications in accordance with GEM Tech’s Quality Assurance Program (QAM/QAP) and ASME NQA-1-2008 and NQA-1a-2009.
- Develops and implements audit plans/checklists, source verifications and coordinates organizational and/or supplier support.
- Independently reviews results of audits and source surveillances.
- Interfaces with GEM and supplier management, up to and including officers of the company to assess, categorize, evaluate, and report conditions adverse to quality.
- Ensures timely follow-up including evaluations of root cause and effectiveness of corrective actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.
- Provides technical, programmatic, and organizational direction/guidance to supplier and/or organizational personnel.
- Independently performs source verifications of manufacturing facilities.

COMPENSATION: GEM does not publish salary ranges on external job boards; all ranges listed are estimates made by vendors and not actual salary ranges. GEM’s offered compensation is dependent on candidates’ education, qualifications, and relevant years of experience.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or quality assurance and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- NQA-1 certified lead auditor credentials.
- Qualified to ANSI N45.2.23 and/or ASME NQA-1-2008 with NQA-1a-2009 Addenda as Lead Auditor.
- Proven track record for audits.
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and ability to apply 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ANSI N45.2, ANSI/ASME NQA-1, Regulatory Guides and Standards, and 10 CFR
- Experience in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD).
- Ability to work in a team to produce desired outputs in short turnaround times.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding across a broad range of nuclear quality issues.
- Experience with 10CFR Part 21, 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, NCA-3800, NCA-4000, and ASME BPVC Section III.
- Management experience with NQA-1 quality management systems.
- Experience in QMS development and deployment.
- Skilled in CAPA and RCA tools and able to teach and coach these concepts.
- Skilled in data analysis and quality KPI performance management.
