Aon is looking for a North America Regional Chief Operating Officer, West Southwest Region. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help clients make better decisions by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of Aon’s West/Southwest Region Leadership team. This role will report to the NA Chief Operating Officer.

Your impact as a North America Regional Chief Operating Officer, West Southwest Region:

Responsible for delivering optimal results through the successful deployment and execution of initiatives that support the organizational strategy (Aon United Blueprint) within the region and across all revenue lines. This role works closely with the West/Southwest Region Leaders participating in strategy development and ensuring that the organizational execution supports the goals of the region. The Regional COO will help enable colleagues to deliver value by optimizing operations, demonstrating scale, allocating resources appropriately, and growing PTI. The COO will specifically need to address issues around client satisfaction, margin improvement, and growth, while simultaneously instilling parameters which include performance metrics that drive efficiency, effective delivery, and revenue/PTI growth.

The West/Southwest Region COO will be measured around:

1. Effective subregion delivery and adherence to Service Standards
2. Adherence to the Delivering Aon United global standards
3. Delivering business results
4. Improving spread/Margin expansion initiatives to drive SPTI growth
5. Assisting in completing growth targets in the West/Southwest Region of the US
6. Execution of operational efficiency targets and objectives
7. Driving key change and transformation initiatives identified by senior management
8. In partnership with finance partner & business leaders, running controls and driving expense reduction (T&E, OT, Real Estate, etc.)
9. In collaboration with People Partner, assisting in the execution of staffing strategy, including the requisition approval process (e.g. capacity analysis, recruitment, training, etc.)
10. Responsible for delivering efficient results through implementation and coordination of all other key ABS operational business initiatives.

Leading Risk & Compliance:

1. Deliver technology & operational initiatives to lower risk in the firm
2. Lead the remediation to open audits and drive timely closure
3. Ensure Client solutions & interpersonal readiness associated with regulatory compliance
4. Ensure we are supporting the Health & Welfare of colleagues
5. Strengthen business continuity and compliance programs

Job Responsibilities:

1. Further implement the client service hub that delivers solutions which help free up resources that can be reallocated to sell new business and further develop client relationships
2. Successful implementation of the ABS aspect of the Aon Blueprint in the region
3. Assist in the execution of Information Technologies (IT) and strategic/global platforms
4. Conduct regular business and operational reviews and drive improvement planning consistent with corporate objectives
5. Drive initiatives that improve spread, expand margin, and where appropriate, help in the execution of revenue generation. Current examples include:

• Improve cash management through enhanced execution around timely invoicing and receivable collections.
• Increase the number of Delivering Aon United (DAU) Client Discovery meetings and ensure operational execution of other DAU programs
• In collaboration with Growth Enablement operational leader, work to increase utilization of Aon Connect (CRM) sales pipeline to support accurate forecasting and growth

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise:

Required Experience:

1. Minimum of 8 plus years of senior management or operational management experience
2. Proven leadership and revenue growth success
3. Ability to use expertise to develop strategic operating plans and implement business unit initiatives
4. Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insight and recommendations
6. Financial management experience in the creation and management of budgets and implementation of financial controls
7. Understand key drivers of profitability and operational performance
8. Provide input on Company-wide plans and policies of strategic importance
9. Ability to work in a complex global matrix environment with a mix of functional, business, and geographic leaders
10. Project management, agile methodology/tools
11. Management of acceleration team to bring steady process improvements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; MBA preferred
