Job Details
Under the guidance of senior finance leadership, the General Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and executing time-sensitive accounting processes essential to our operations. This includes recording, analyzing, and reconciling financial transactions across various business functions and supporting the preparation of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Management: Handle transaction processing across various cycles—daily, weekly, and monthly—ensuring accuracy and compliance in the financial records.
Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly and annual reconciliations, ensuring alignment between general and subsidiary ledgers, updating asset and liability records, and managing bank reconciliations and audits.
Communication and Compliance: Act as a liaison for financial issues, communicating with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to policies.
Billing and Administrative Support: Oversee the coding and authorization of transactions, process invoices, and support payroll functions as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Assist in enhancing financial procedures and systems, including the implementation of new software solutions.
Key Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
Strong skills in Excel and general ledger applications; familiarity with Lawson or Sage Intacct is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.
Must be willing to relocate to the DMV area if not already local.
Additional Information:
This role may occasionally require working outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends. The position also involves some physical tasks such as lifting and moving items up to 26 pounds.
