Our client is a dedicated non-proift who is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Temporary Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in non-profit accounting and who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Job Description:
As a Temporary Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with a variety of accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. You will work closely with the Finance Director and other team members to maintain financial records, prepare reports, and support the organization's accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Process donations and grants, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and fund allocation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in the non-profit accounting software.
- Support the preparation for audits and regulatory filings.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using non-profit accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Non-Profit, Aplos, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and non-profit regulations is a plus.
