About the Job
This is a long term contracting position with a Fortune 500 company in their Boca Raton location. In this position the NOC Technician will be part of a team, responsible for monitoring in a 24 hour/ 7 day a week NOC environment.
****The main shifts for this position are a 2nd and overnight shifts and will include weekends and holidays. We need people who are flexible to work these hours.
Summary:
The ideal person will have some IT experience and/or a degree in Computer Science or related education. New grads encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
Taking action on Email Alerts within 5 minutes. Client received large amount of alerts a day so this is a critical part of the job.
Protecting to customer, DNS failover
Communicating /escalating/engaging to the appropriate teams
Issuing initial severity within 10 minutes
Establishing an event /conference bridge
Issuing severity updates
Escalating/engaging management team
Properly executing Data Center walkthrough
Updating and communicating with the other team members
Monitoring and diagnosing system, application and/or network performance problems
Troubleshooting and escalating system, application or network issues
Managing and supporting remote systems in both data centers
Performing QA testing on big data systems to ensure data integrity
Point of contact for network events or productions outages
Maintaining functionality in vast Linux and Windows environments
Due to nature of the client’s business, you must pass an extensive national background, employment verification and drug test.
