Description
Looking to hire a NOC Technician for a 6 month contract to hire role. There are a lot of network focused issues that have fallen on the Service Desk in the past. They recently stood up a NOC to help with this overflow and have been building it out over the past year. They currently have 3 techs on the team but need to replace one, as they aren't living up to expectations. The vision for this NOC is one where the techs aren't just monitoring and identifying issues, but one where they are performing the resolutions as well. They would like to maintain an 80/20 breakdown of resolution to escalation. They will be covering about 70% network issues and 30% systems issues. On the systems side it is important that candidates have experience supporting O365 and the Microsoft suite, windows devices, and servers running windows. Ideally they will have some experience with AWS cloud.
All of the stores have on prem hardware. Part of the role is monitoring this hardware and troubleshooting issues that can be solved remotely. If its an issue with the physical hardware, they will alert the MSP to configure a new device, it will be shipped to the store, and then another 3rd party partner will handle the install.
This person should have around 5+ years of previous experience in a NOC Tech role, or at least be capable of coming in and performing right away. Candidates should also have experience with one or more monitoring tool (Kendra is using Logic Monitor). Their servers are primarily hosted in AWS and they use Azure AD. They should also have experience with basic route switch skills. They also use the Cisco Meraki dashboard so candidates should have some exposure to that tool.
There is a new SD-Wan project kicking off shortly, so any SD-Wan experience is a big plus as well.
It is also important that this person has a sense of urgency. A lot of this work is reactionary, and they need someone that will perform well under pressure and be able to guide them through an outage swiftly and efficiently.
Day to Day work may include:
- Oversee Cisco Meraki devices and manager switches and Access Points in stores and HQ
- Monitor alarms and outages
- Work with teams to put monitoring in place. Define alert based on request and handle platform management.
- Network and systems troubleshooting.
- Some On Premise Server support
- Manage networking tools
- Spinning up Cloud Servers or new Data Base's

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
