Our Client, a leader in the printing and converting industry, known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction is looking for a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join their dynamic team. This key role ensures the smooth operation of production shifts while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. This is a direct hire oppurtunity. 

Job Summary:

As a Shift Supervisor, you will direct and coordinate the activities of the printing or converting departments, overseeing the production processes and ensuring that all products meet customer expectations for quality, safety, and delivery. You will apply your extensive knowledge of production methods, processes, machinery, and equipment to manage and guide team members effectively.

Essential Functions:

In this role, you will have a variety of responsibilities that contribute to the success of the production department. These include but are not limited to:

• Shift Operations Management: Review production schedules to plan shift operations and ensure the production team meets output goals.
• Production Coordination: Oversee the manufacturing activities to ensure products are produced on time and meet quality specifications.
• Process Inspection: Regularly inspect production processes to ensure proper handling of materials and operation of equipment.
• Team Assignments: Assign workers to specific tasks based on their expertise and the requirements of production methods, processes, machines, and equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Schedule and arrange for the maintenance of equipment when needed to ensure seamless production.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality standards are consistently met.
• Employee Leadership: Lead and train shift personnel, fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
• Safety & Welfare: Promote the safety and welfare of employees, ensuring a safe working environment in line with company policies and safety rules.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure finished products meet productivity and quality standards while controlling waste and improving efficiency.
• Housekeeping & Maintenance: Implement good housekeeping practices and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Continuous Improvement: Follow company procedures to meet quality objectives and support ongoing operational improvements.

Competencies & Skills:

To succeed in this role, you will bring the following expertise:

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to set performance and professionalism standards for your team.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of press and ink room operations, including plate mounting skills and the ability to set up and fine-tune presses.
• Process Efficiency: Familiarity with the company's specification system and a working knowledge of production processes and equipment.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking with the ability to measure processes and efficiency using basic math and statistical skills.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production or process operations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including basic math and statistical skills to measure processes and efficiency.
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent experience in a related field.
