Mass General Brigham's Center for Child Development is offering a comprehensive co-op internship program designed to integrate research and clinical care under a shared vision of improving patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will contribute to our dual-focus on cutting-edge research and exemplary clinical services, identifying opportunities for care enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Research-Related Tasks:
* Support the implementation of research protocols by participating in systematic data collection.
* Assist in the analysis of data for ongoing research studies and contribute to manuscript preparation.
* Collaborate with the research team to identify and address areas for improvement in protocol implementation, participant family engagement and retention, and joint or collaborative work between clinical and research teams.
* Participate in the creation and submission of an abstract summarizing research activities and outcomes.
Clinical-Related Tasks:
* Perform patient intake duties, including vitals, medical history documentation, and room preparation.
* Assist in the turnover of patient rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment for care delivery.
* Aid in the preparation and organization of materials for upcoming patient visits.
* Observe and support clinical staff during patient interactions, ensuring a seamless care experience.
Administrative Tasks and Meetings:
* Attend regular meetings with Dr. Mandy Belfort and Dr. Melissa Woythaler to receive direction and discuss progress on assigned duties.
* Engage in proactive communication with both research and clinical teams to align daily tasks with the center's objectives.
* Document and report on task completion, challenges, and patient interactions as needed.
Qualifications:
* Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate healthcare program.
* Strong commitment to both research excellence and high-quality clinical care.
* Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Effective communication skills and proficiency in standard office software.
