General Info:
As the sole Maintenance Technician on the WW shift you will be the go-to person for addressing, supporting, and ensuring continuous production.
Job Title - Weekend Warrior Maintenance Technician
Schedule - Initial Temporary training shift schedule - guaranteed 40-hour shift pace.
After Training, WW shift schedule is Friday Saturday and Sunday from 6 am - 6 pm
Reports To - Maintenance Manager
Pre-Hire Requirements - Completion of drug test and background check. The employee must possess a basic set of tools. All other equipment or complex/extensive set of tools needed are provided by the company for department use.
Overview/ Responsibilities
- Ability to perform direct labor duties and follow procedures as assigned and directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Collaborates with production by scheduling and controlling downtime as necessary.
- Actively involved in the continuous improvement of the maintenance department. Assists as needed in the engineering, fabrication, installation, and commissioning new processes and equipment. This will be encouraged when transitioning to full-time Weekend Warrior Maintenance Tech after the training period.
- Ensures operation of process equipment by completing corrective and preventative maintenance requirements of Tool Shop equipment and on Production machinery from the wet-end process to molding and drying, including motors, pumps, valves, agitators, conveyor systems, electrical/instrumentation components, gas burners, air compressors, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc. manual lathes, band saws, drill presses, and CNC vertical mills.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions, defective parts, and failures in equipment or determine escalations.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level. Can determine the suitability of the components by inspecting used parts and rebuilding as necessary. Fabricates repair parts when necessary and/or utilizes outside vendors for repairs.
- Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests and completing associated documentation (work orders, inventory recording, safety documents, etc.)
- Maintains safe and clean operations and clean working environment by adhering to OSHA standards and complying to the EnviroPAK Safety Policy as well as procedure, rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED and advanced technical school training (or relevant field experience)
- 2+ years of mechanical and preventative maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Maintenance/technical experience should include one or more of the following: conveyors, pumps, motors, agitators, pneumatics, hydraulics, burners, compressors, using hoists, lifts, cranes, hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of electrical/instrumentation maintenance and repair (is a PLUS!)
- Strong interdepartmental and external communication skills (verbal and written)
- Computer skills (Microsoft Excel/Word, maintenance software, etc.)
- Basic Mathematical skills
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
- Ability to work on your feet in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts/hours as needed to support team schedules
