Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a New Product Introduction (NPI) and ERP Implementation Specialist for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Data Services clients in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ERP Implementation and New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist to join our team. As an ERP Implementation and NPI Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the successful implementation of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system while also leading all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) and portfolio management, collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful product launches. The individual will drive material readiness with the supply chain, participate in early-stage product development, and ensure alignment with operational objectives. They will optimize sustaining products, capture lessons learned, and provide recommendations for future designs and processes. Effective product transition management, clear communication of program status and changes, and understanding financial principles, market dynamics, and product positioning are crucial. Strong analytical skills using BI tools and delivering valuable business insights are required.

- Lead the implementation of the ERP system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute product launches, manage project schedules, and identify risks.
- Set build plans, drive material readiness with the supply chain, and evaluate constraints.
- Participate in early-stage product development, ensuring alignment objectives and requirements of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, and Service.
- Optimize sustaining products, provide feedback to Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain, and make recommendations for future designs and processes.
- Evaluate performance against customer and business requirements, implement risk mitigation, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the operations strategic sourcing team to drive cost reduction and component sourcing strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide input on DFx methods (manufacturing, quality, sourcing, service, and cost) in Hardware Engineering design discussions.
- Utilize technical expertise to meet program cost targets at a product and commodity level.
- Develop and maintain PLM processes and policies for effective product transition management, including risk analysis, supply continuity, and end-of-life considerations.
- Establish clear mechanisms to communicate program status and changes to the team and management.
- Demonstrate understanding of financial principles, market dynamics, and product positioning.
- Apply Six Sigma and continuous process improvement concepts.
- Utilize BI tools (e.g., Tableau/PowerBi) for strong analytics and deliver business insights to stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience in successfully implementing ERP systems, preferably in a similar industry or domain.
- Strong knowledge of ERP concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficient in configuring and customizing ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Proven track record in program management and/or product lifecycle management, with a specific focus on supply chain management.
- Possesses comprehensive technical knowledge across multiple functions and demonstrates expertise in Product Lifecycle Management and Program Management/Business principles. Recognized as an expert in the field.
- Strong foundation in both traditional enterprise architectures and cloud architectures, with a particular emphasis on supply chain strategy.
