Ulbrich Specialty Wire Products, located in Westminster, South Carolina, is equipped for rolling, drawing, annealing, straightening and precision winding of a variety of round, flat and square wire products. Our “focus factory” (factory within a factory) dedicates managers and engineers along with state of the art equipment to produce and manage industry specific requirements.

USWP also houses Ulbrich Solar Technologies, Inc., a world leader in the manufacture of tinned plated copper, silver plated copper and aluminum flat wire (PV Ribbon) for the solar industry.

Job Description- The position of New Product Development Engineer requires engineering, problem solving, and professional communication skills;
- Use of Engineering disciplines and data acquisition for New Product Development and improvement of existing products is required;
- Candidate will be a member of the NPD team in all phases of New Product Development including new product kickoff, prototyping, first release samples, design reviews and production readiness;
- Exercise engineering work within all inks of supply chain and manufacturing, including raw materials, process, equipment, tooling, packaging, testing and data acquisition;
- Maintains organized system of documentation compliant with ISO 9001 New Product Development procedures;
- Contributes and leads customer communication meetings as required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering is preferred;
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in engineering along with improving the productivity and quality of operations;
- Experience with process improvements as well as equipment design and modifications;
- Effective communication skills - verbal, written, presentation, and intermediate skills with MS Office.
