About the Job
We are recruiting a New Patient Coordinator for our Gainesville and Watkinsville locations. The position will provide the initial contact for each new patient and ensure that they are well prepared for their first visit by making certain patients are being seen by the appropriate physician and that patients arrive for their appointment with all pertinent information to ensure optimal care coordination (medical records, test results, referrals, copays).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Completes registration and obtains insurance authorization for new patients.
• Ensures financial information/copy of insurance card is forwarded to Billing Dept.
• Obtains pertinent medical records before date of appointment for new patients.
• Schedules physician appointments for new patients.
• Reviews incoming referrals and collecting patient demographics.
• Schedules appointments.
• Answers patients questions and concerns via telephone, text, and email accurately and in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Prepares correspondence and other related documents.
• Contributes to team effort of collecting patient information and preparing charts for upcoming appointments.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates degree with 2 years or any combination of education
and work experience in a customer service-related role.
• One (1) year experience working in a medical/clinical setting.
• Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to
navigate within Microsoft Office Suite, or similar programs.
