Job Description
Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join the Memory Technology Design team team in Milpitas, CA. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating Chip architecture and Core/Data Path/Analog circuit structures for feasibility study of high-performance NAND flash, including new, highly advanced 3D NAND memories. Evaluation of these circuits will be done through HSPICE, FINESIM and VERILOG simulations and through silicon probing when the silicon arrives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect and design circuits at transistor level and gate level for leading-edge 3D NAND flash memory, including page buffers, sense amplifiers and high-speed data path circuit design.
- RTL design for page buffer and data path control logics and verification in Verilog, RTL linting, clock domain crossing (CDC) analysis, synthesis, timing analysis and closure.
- Perform block level and full chip circuit simulations to meet all performance specifications.
- Conduct silicon debugging and evaluation with micro-probing.
- Collaborate with characterization engineers to fully characterize silicon, and collaborate with other designers to develop solutions for silicon issues.
- Generate detailed technical reports and presentations.
The candidate should have a specialization in circuit design and professional or academic experience in circuit design. The candidate’s skillset should include a problem-solving mindset, good project management skills, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
QualificationsREQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related engineering field with a graduation date before July 2025. The expected start date for this position is in July or August 2025.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team setting.
- Fundamental knowledge of circuit design is required.
- Proficiency in HSPICE, Verilog, System Verilog, or similar tools
- Good project management, problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills are required.
- Must possess an innovative engineering mindset, the ability to work in a high-paced dynamic environment, and the ability to multi-task.
- The ideal candidate must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
PREFERRED:
- Industry or academic experience in circuit design, especially from full-time or internship experience.

- An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
- You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
