SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Neuroscience & Rehabilitation Service Line Administrative Senior Director to join our Admin-Neurosciences team. This full-time role will primarily work days. Preferred candidates will have a background in Nursing (rehab acute care settings).
Purpose of this position: The Neuroscience & Rehabilitation Service Line Administrative Senior Director is the administrative leader in partnership with physician dyad partner(s) responsible for leading the development and implementation of the vision, mission, and strategic clinical priorities for the service line. The Service Line Administrative Senior Director will position the Service line as a leader in innovative and integrative clinical services that are cost competitive, value driven system of care for the areas assigned to the clinical departments/units/ or service areas (areas of responsibility). The Service Line Administrative Senior Director will ensure that all centers and programs associated with the Service Line support the Triple Aim and the mission and strategic objectives of Hennepin Health Care. This position has ultimate responsibility and accountability to assure that programs and services delivered by team members are safe, timely, effective, patient-center, and equitable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures operations meet quality, financial, patient satisfaction, and affordability targets and ensures provider and staff engagement
- Leads the service line clinical strategy development in partnership with the leadership team, physicians, employees, and external third parties to fully develop the vision and strategies for the achievement and expansion of the integration of care across Hennepin Healthcare. This includes the development of proformas and business cases as appropriate
- Represents the service line within the Senior Operations, Senior Strategy, Senior Physician Committees, and other Hennepin Health Committees as appropriate
- Develops, implements, and monitors operational budgets in areas of accountability that ensure the department’s continuing stability and overall contribution to the institution
- Facilitation of physician/hospital relationships, team leadership with an emphasis on patient care delivery, high quality customer service, and efficient allocation of available capital and human resources
- Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with physicians to ensure strategic plans and medical staff planning are coordinated
- Is knowledgeable and enforces administrative and governing regulations to ensure the highest level of compliance and resource stewardship
- Development and responsibility of short and long term goals, operational goals, and objectives identified for the service line and related departments
- Oversees the implementation and replication of clinical best practices as appropriate across Hennepin Healthcare
- Develops strategies and solutions that build the team member capability required to support organization strategy and achieve business results
- Assists with purchasing procedures and the maintenance of equipment in assigned areas of responsibility
- Non-Physician team member oversight in areas of responsibility including
- Team development and employee engagement
- Orientation and onboarding of staff
- Leadership development within the team
- Allocation of time and scheduling, PTO management
- Performance evaluations
- Discipline management
- Determining compensation in collaboration with HR
- Selecting unit/department non-physician operational leaders
- Ensuring diversity of provider workforce
- Ensuring staff competency for areas of responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in applicable field of study for Service Line or must be enrolled and graduate from a Master’s program by the date determined by the Chief Nursing Officer or Vice President, Ambulatory Administration
- Five (5) years of healthcare operations experience in applicable Care Ring/Service Line

- Knowledge of business management techniques and principles, project management, finance, and statistics at a level normally acquired through a completion of a Master’s degree in applicable field in order to develop and direct objectives and goals and resolve complex management problems
- Ten (10) years of healthcare operations experience in applicable Care Ring/Service Line

- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

- Ten (10) years of healthcare operations experience
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Strategy minded; ability to focus on strategic rather than operational objectives
- Ability to effectively allocate resources (i.e., budget and personnel)
- Is capable of assisting executives in defining organizational goals, critical issues, and strategic plans
- Ability to model and uphold organizational norms and values, particularly with regards to health and safety
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking when addressing organizational issues
- Skilled in fostering a positive workplace culture and building inclusive workplace teams
- Ability to provide and receive feedback via daily interactions and direct reports

License/Certifications:
- RN licensure required for Inpatient/Hospital Based Care and Critical Care
