We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Neuropsychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with neuro-psychological disorders, focusing on the relationship between brain function and behavior. You will conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, develop tailored treatment plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and well-being. This person will work with the Chief Medical Officer, to further develop Geode’s cutting edge clinical programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct detailed neuropsychological evaluations using standardized tests to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Diagnosis: Interpret assessment results to diagnose neuro-psychological conditions, including but not limited to traumatic brain injury, cognitive disorders and dementia, learning disabilities and attentional disorders.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
- Intervention: Provide evidence-based interventions and therapies to enhance cognitive function and emotional well-being.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including but not limited to neurologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatric physician assistants to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and strategies for managing cognitive and emotional challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress.
Qualifications :
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology (required).
- Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, cognitive processes, and psychological assessment methods.
- Current licensure to practice as a therapist in the state of Illinois (required).
- Completion of postdoctoral training in neuropsychology (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a clinical mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and clinical protocols.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent documentation and record keeping skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to clients.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment with occasional travel to client locations
- May involve evening or weekend hours to accommodate client schedules
- Potential exposure to stressful situations and emergency scenarios
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time between patient care and documentation
- Fine finger coordination required for typing, pressing objects such as utilizing laptop/mouse for documentation purposes
- Ability to speak clearly with patients and team members so others can understand.
- Ability to hear and understand others when speaking
- Ability to view computer screen monitor, small objects few feet away
- Ability to act and move quickly in emergency situations involving patient care
