About the Job
The Network Support Technician Lead coordinates and monitors all duties of the Network Support Technicians in a leadership role. The Network Support Technician Lead is responsible for providing Huntsville Hospital users with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness of work orders. The Network Support Technician coordinates and monitors support for installation, upgrades and maintenance of all hardware and software in the LAN and WAN environment. Oversees preventative maintenance on all networked equipment. Troubleshoots and performs repairs when possible and coordinates vendor service as needed.
Qualifications:Education:
Require Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. CNA preferred. A+ Certification preferred. MCP and MSCE Certification desirable.
Experience:
Two years experience in a supervisory position in a technical field. Extensive knowledge of DOS operating system, Windows operating systems, installing computer software, computer hardware and related equipment, installing memory, installing and configuring hard drives, and network cards, installing and maintaining printers and jet directs and inventory control and work order systems.
Additional skills/abilities:
Ability to assess situations and make quick decisions based on prioritization. Ability to manage a stressful work environment related to changing priorities and critical support needs. Provides expert knowledge for all levels of Network Support Technicians. Intermediary between Network Support Technicians and Network Specialists. Ability to travel to off-site locations. Ability to work any of three shifts on any rotation. Demonstrated ability to relate to all levels of the user community. Knowledge of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks, ISDN, Frame Relay and ATM connectivity and extensive knowledge of Novell networks and Novell print services. Knowledge of NT.
