Summary
Primary role will be supporting the team in the coordination and implementation of Engineering requests for channel additions and network upgrades in support of objectives for the Backbone Network.
Responsible for the design, implementation, operational support of the Company internet protocol network.
Provides expert-level technical advice and support for real time analysis, design, testing, and operations of internet protocol router networks, etc.
Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities.
Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.
Core Responsibilities
A solid technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; this resource is responsible for coordinating and implementing all requirements associated with turning up new circuits onto the Comcast network and development of configurations and application of configurations to support activation. A comprehensive knowledge in configuring routers as well as navigating transport build platforms is required.
This position requires specific knowledge of networking and circuit implementation 1G & 10G Ethernet circuits. Manage circuits from order entry, implementation to successful test and turn up on such products as SIP, SFI Wholesale Transit and Voice circuits. This includes network build outs, large projects, network record keeping, CFA assignment, ability to read and understand DLR, CILLI and LOA/CFA information.
Ability to interpret Engineering Designs and extract relevant network elements for identifying new equipment, affected elements and complete connectivity requirements.
Create Network Maintenance tickets associated with Service Affecting and Non-Service Affecting activity and accurately identifying all affected circuits.
A solid understanding of infrastructure consisting of Cisco, Juniper, CIENA, ALU platforms - optical/DWDM/Ethernet
Technical proficiency utilizing business software such as; Microsoft Suite, MetaSolv and Filemaker applications are required for this position to support Agile strategic business initiatives while ensuring all data entered in these applications is accurate and complete.
Offers technical expertise and direction as a team member resource on internet protocol router network technologies and troubleshooting issues.
Builds and maintains ongoing relationships with the regions and local markets and vendors.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Emphasis on communication and soft skills is required.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent or equivalent work experience
Field of Study:
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science
Certifications:
Current CCNA required
Years Experience:
Generally requires 3+ years related experience
Skills/Experience Required:
o Circuit provisioning, deployment, routing, switching
o This position requires specific knowledge of networking and circuit implementation 1G & 10G Ethernet circuits. Will manage circuits from order entry, implementation to successful test and turn up on such products as SIP, SFI Wholesale transit and Voice circuits. This includes network build outs, large projects, network record keeping, CFA assignment
o Must have the ability to read and understand DLR, CILLI and LOA/CFA information.
o This is a customer-facing role therefore communication skills must be excellent
