Job Description Summary
The Network Engineer ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the local (LAN) and wide-area (WAN) networks that support core business and organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all networked devices and architecture that are part of the Health System. This individual will lead various transformative network initiatives (redesign, infrastructure upgrades, new build outs), tactical in nature, that will address most important challenges including scalability, stability, and an increasingly complex unified communications environment, including data, voice and video infrastructure. This position will be responsible for configuring, network installations, defining and documenting network equipment standards, designs and processes.
Job Description
Expert level experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, VPNs, Wireless Access Points and Controllers. Expert level experience with Citrix Netscaler, FatPipe and F5 Load Balancers. Expert level experience with infoblox or Windows DNS/DHCP services. Expert level experience with Solarwinds NPM, NetFlow, and other Cisco-based network monitoring/analyzer tools. Expert level experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS, including Cisco Nexus 1K/2K/5K/7K), Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco routers and other Cisco networking gear. Advanced knowledge and experience with LAN / WAN routing and switching (Layer 2/3) technologies, VLAN security, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF. Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, VPN, SIP Client/Server and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA). Advanced knowledge and understanding of 802.1x and applicable wireless technologies. Advanced knowledge and understanding of VPN technologies. Advanced knowledge and understanding of ACL processes / uses. Advanced knowledge and experience with point-to-point (T1), dark fiber, and multiple label switch paths (MPLS), MetroEthernet, and other WAN technologies. Advanced knowledge of data center related technology and collocation environments. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP packet analysis or raw packet captures (using Wireshark, Solarwinds, or tcpdump). Proficient in implementation of wireless networks to include configuration of Wireless LAN Controllers, CAPWAP, FlexConnect, EAP-TLS, and RADIUS. Understanding and experience with IPSEC VPN(s) tunnels. Understanding and experience with 802.1q, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN, MPLS Expertise in managing load balancing technology preferably with F5 LTM & GTM Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with logical problem solving from Layer 1 through Layer 7 of the OSI model.
