Title: Network Engineer II
Location: Hybrid within the Southeastern Region
Description:
The Network Engineer II will design, implement, and maintain advanced network systems to support business, clinical, and research operations. This role focuses on optimizing storage, virtualization, LAN/WAN, and end-user computing environments, ensuring high performance and reliability. The engineer will contribute to technical roadmaps, system implementations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement solutions to address business requirements and IT strategy gaps.
Manage systems in focus areas such as Storage/Backup, Virtualization, LAN/WAN/WLAN, Server/OS, and End-User Computing.
Perform system maintenance, disaster recovery, problem resolution, and monitoring in specialized areas.
Develop and execute technical roadmaps, designs, and testing plans for new and existing infrastructure systems.
Ensure proper documentation to support IT operations and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with System Administrators and Engineers to configure and install new systems.
Mentor team members and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to enhance team effectiveness.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience:
Associate's degree + 9 years of relevant experience, or
High school diploma + 10 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in at least two of the following areas:
Managing SAN/NAS in EMC environments.
Backup, archive, and disaster recovery solutions.
Microsoft, Unix, Linux, or Cisco operating systems.
Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Citrix).
Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and NetScaler/load balancing solutions.
LAN/WAN/SDN technologies and wireless solutions.
Cybersecurity tools, including NAC (Cisco ISE) and Palo Alto NGFWs.
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Enterprise DNS and DHCP environments.

Compensation:
Pay range: $110-120k/year
