Marathon TS is hiring a Network Engineer to support our client at Hanscom AFB, MA. This is an onsite role, and the right candidates will have an active Top secret clearance and the following skill set:
Responsibilities:
-15+ years' experience in network administration or engineering including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
-Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Other work-related certifications are a plus.
-Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle including: requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance.
-Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls.
-Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
-Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians.
-Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies.
-Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.
-Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and desktops in an enterprise organization.
-Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
-Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.
-Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:
- Direct/monitor information systems operations.
- Design, build, and implement network systems.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues.
- Analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
- Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems.
- Interface with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
- Manage the purchase, testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications.
- Support system engineering related tasks including major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
- Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
- Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.
- Provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints.
