Network Engineer from INSPYR Solutions

Title: Network Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: 6-month contract
Compensation:
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
 
Skillset / Experience:

Network Engineer role would support network buildout and operations on upcoming pilot projects. On a fully deployed network, the role would support continued network operations, resolve outages, performance issues, and perform needed upgrades and repairs. The role would initially be housed under Programs or Operations and would transition into the corporate entity managing the deployment.
Reporting and Support:

• Split of R&R between implementation work with Platform, and support and deployment for Programs and Operations.
  • Could house under either organization and eventually move to entity managing deployment
• Project & Program Priorities
  • Support I-94 Pilot network troubleshooting and maintenance
  • For I-94 expansion, assist civil team in fiber and network buildout
  • Assist civil team in fiber and network buildout for SH-130
  • Support SH-130 network troubleshooting and maintenance

• Standup our client’s network at new roadside deployments
• Support Civil Engineering team in documentation and planning for network related items.
• Execute network device upgrades and replacement including coordinating outages with software and program teams
• Maintain network documentation at client’s deployments.
• Procure network hardware to support deployment upgrades and new constructions.
• Perform network monitoring and troubleshooting on operating deployments and root cause network failures
• Author scripts to automate network device maintenance and configuration.
• Track and manage network device license and subscriptions.
• Manage circuits and accounts with ISPs.
• Deployment of remote access A&A that meets security & audit requirements.

• Troubleshooting OSI layers 1-4
• Command line configuration of switches, routers, and firewalls
• Firewall rule configuration and log monitoring
• NAT configuration and troubleshooting
• Linux network configuration
• Routing: Static, BGP, OSPF
• VLAN design and configuration
• Experience with network automation scripting in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Documentation tools: Lucid, Visio, Excel, or similar
• Implementation of RADIUS and TACACS
• Configuration of IPsec VPNs

• Experience with GCP and VPC and related networking
• Ansible or Terraform
• Web development skills
• Experience working with State and Federal transportation agencies on ITS focused projects
